Q: Do I need to config DRM keys before convert DRM protected ebooks? ...

A: It depends on where the books are from.

if the DRM protected books are from eReader device or other computers that you can not open with your local vendor program, you centainly need to config the keys beforehand. But if the ebooks can be opened by local vendor programs, you can ignore the config process and the program will try its best to read the key automatically for you.

It’s possible that the program can not fetch the key from local vendor programs, in this case, you can config the DRM key and try again.

Q: It's not working for My Kindle DRMed ebooks on MacOS? ...

A: If you are using Kindle for MacOS, there’s a tricky job you need to do before you can unlock the DRMed ebooks.

Open the Kindle App and remove the DRMed ebooks you want to convert from library;
Logoff your amazon account from Kindle App;
Open a terminal.
Input the below commands in the terminal , you may need to input your root password.

cd /Applications/Kindle.app/Contents/MacOS/
sudo chmod -x renderer-test
```
Open kindle App once more and login with your Amazon account;

Download the ebooks you want to convert. Kindle will download the ebooks in folder:

/Users/<username>/Library/Containers/com.amazon.Kindle/Data/Library/Application Support/Kindle/My Kindle Content

After the above steps, the newly downloaded ebooks can be unlocked.
